Be + infinitive is used to say that someone should or must do something.

Examples :


You are to sit here and keep quiet. आप यहां बैठें एवं चुप रहें |

You are to wait here in this room until I return. मेरे वापस आने तक तुम इस कमरे में प्रतीक्षा करो |

All staff are to wear uniforms. सभी कर्मचारियों को यूनिफार्म पहनना है |

You are to report this to police. आप इसकी सूचना पुलिस को दें |

What is to be done about this problem? इस समस्या के लिए क्या करना है? 

Be + infinitive is used to show that something will happen in the future.

Examples :


They are to be married next year. उन दोनों की शादी अगले वर्ष होगी |

Which new movie is to be released? कौन सी नई मूवी रिलीज होने वाली है |

Our classes are to be begin from next Monday. अगले सोमवार से हमारी कक्षाएं शुरू होने वाली है |

Be + infinitive can be used to convey a command, instruction or notice.

Examples :


This form is to be completed in ink. इस फार्म को इंक से भरना है |

You are to wait and watch. आप रूकिए एवं देखिए |

Where am I to put this file down? इस फाइल को कहां रखूं?
