निम्नलिखित अवस्थाओं में Might का प्रयोग किया जाता है -

(a) May के past tense form में जैसे 

Structures 

S + might + v1. 

S + might + be v4. 

S +might have + v3. 

O + might be +v3. 

O + might have been + v3  

'Might' is used to show possibility, permission, suggestion, past purpose, annoyance. 

Examples : 

Remote possibility  

She might get there in time, but I can't be sure. वह यहाँ समय पर आ सकती हैं पर मैं निश्चित नहीं हूँ |

It might rain. बारिश हो सकती है पर संभावना कम है | 

I suppose he might have missed the train. मेरी समझ से उसकी ट्रेन छूट गई होगी |

I might be a few minutes late. मुझे कुछ देर हो सकती है | 

He was apprehensive that something might go wrong. उसे आशंका थी कि कुछ गड़बड़ हो सकती है |

Might I use your phone, please? क्या मैं आपका फोन प्रयोग में ला सकता हूँ? 

Might I ask you why you have not cleared your dues? क्या मैं जान सकता हूँ कि आपने अभी तक बकाया राशि का भुगतान क्यों नहीं किया है? 

If I might just say something. कुछ बोलूं |

I wonder if I might speak to your director. क्या मैं आपके निदेशक से बात कर सकता हूँ |

Suggestion 

You might meet the director. आप निदेशक से मिल सकते हैं |

If you need more information, you might try the internet. आप नेट पर देख लीजिए यदि और विशेष सूचना चाहिए तो |

I think it might be a good idea to start a business. व्यवसाय शुरू करना अच्छा रहेगा |

Annoyance 

You might have informed us about the programme at least two days back. कम से कम दो दिन पहले आप मुझे कार्यक्रम के बारे में सूचित कर सकते थे |

Past purpose 

He walked fast so that he might catch the train. वह तेज चला ताकि गाड़ी पकड़ सके|
